Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution
The Young Peacemaker
This curriculum by Corlette Sande teaches peace-building skills by empowering children and youth to understand and respond to conflict Biblically. Each section: Understanding, Responding, and Preventing Conflict, has its goal and objectives. The lessons end with scripture memorization and the use of drama and dance. Included in this amazing curriculum are reproducible student activity sheets for all twelve lessons.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 5, when Jesus gave his sermon on the mount: "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called Children of God". We also know that the Word tells us: where there is unity the Lord commands a blessing.
Another part of our mandate is assisting in the peacemaking and conflict resolution of the communities that we work in. The Young Peacemaker curriculum that we have adopted by Corlette Sande teaches the skills of peacebuilding by assisting the children and youth to understand and respond to conflict Biblically.
We believe wholeheartedly that healing takes place in community. When that healing takes place, it builds a pathway to peace.
From this part of our approach, our youth are empowered to wage peace on the internal and external warfare, reconcile their hearts and restore their community.
